I helped produce a large concert at the Sanctuary, which involved close to 100 performers. I learned early on that I could count on the facilities director, Stella, for her professionalism, attention to detail, and most importantly, advocacy for the community. The newly-renovated space was perfect for this concert, which brought in an audience of over 400 over the course of a two-show run. Not only is it visually stunning, but the acoustic treatment makes it ideal for amplified music, without the washiness of many similarly-sized spaces. I’ve also been in this space when it’s being used for large meetings, assemblies, celebrations, festivals, and other events, and it has proved to be very versatile. Everyone who rents out this space not only gets a great value and experience, but also supports the exceptional work of Community Matters, which I can also attest to firsthand.
